Gareth Davies, Head of Membership at RCEM writes a blog to encourage take up in RCEM’s current member value project.

We are currently undertaking a member value project to better understand what our members expect and desire from their membership.

We want to hear your views. Whether you’re an existing RCEM member, or part of the wider EM community, we want to gain a deeper understanding of the changes you’d like to see.

RCEM is committed to providing the best resources, education, and events to strengthen and support the emergency medicine sector to enable clinicians to provide the best care they can for their patients.

The main aims of the project are to:

1. Better demonstrate the value of membership
2. Provide a clear understanding of member segments, needs and wants
3. Create a single internal understanding of who are membership are
4. Guide effective recruitment, retention and engagement
5. Improve member experience and satisfaction

A key component of this research is a survey designed to gather insights about our members and their needs.

All members should have received an email inviting you to participate in this survey but if you have missed this then don’t worry there are still plenty of chances to get involved

We will continue to share the survey in the coming weeks to ensure all members have the opportunity to share their input.

Following the research phase we will also be running some focus groups to gain further insights and to drill down into the themes emerging from the survey results. We really hope to get a massive response rate from members and wider EM stakeholders to to get the best possible data to help inform the decisions we make.
